The Vancouver Whitecaps were involved in a trade with the Philadelphia Union today, one day before the North American transfer window opens.
The Whitecaps acquired the Union’s first-round pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, as well as an undisclosed amount of allocation money and the Union’s 12th position in the league’s allocation ranking. Going to Philadelphia is the Whitecaps’ second-round pick in the 2013 draft, and Vancouver’s first position in the league allocation ranking.
